MAS Periodontology and Implant Dentistry
Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Periodontology and Implant Therapy is a part-time continuous professional education program that provides dentists with advanced postgraduate training in the treatment of periodontal diseases and implant surgery. The program comprises 120 ECTS credits, divided into 80 ECTS for teaching modules and 40 ECTS for the Master’s thesis.
The curriculum was developed in accordance with the principles of the Second European Workshop on Periodontal Education and is based on the competence domains for postgraduate training in periodontology defined by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).

The Master’s thesis comprises 40 ECTS credits (approx. 1,200 working hours) and marks the completion of the MAS program. The thesis is a systematic review, with or without a meta-analysis, and must make an original scientific contribution to the field. The thesis is supervised by a member of the academic staff and assessed by two independent examiners. The oral defense takes place before an examination board.

Teaching Format
The program follows a blended-learning approach: 23 days of face-to-face teaching for hands-on practice and 21 online days for theory and case discussions. The modules take place in blocks and are designed to be compatible with professional commitments.

- Completed degree in dentistry
- Valid professional license
- At least 1 year of clinical professional experience

- Access to a specialist dental practice during your studies, so that you can present your own cases and put what you have learnt into practice
